January 4, 2017
It’s 2017. WOW…..
As I have said before, I love the New Year’s season. It is my favorite time of the year.
Time is important to all of us. And the startle of the New Year ringing in yet another year gets my attention every time, every year.
For me, it’s a time for self-accountability. Every year I ask, “Am I who I want to be?” “Am I the mother I need to be?” “… the wife I need to be?” (my husband, of 43 years, and I have differing opinions on this one! hahaha).
This last year it was, “Have I said what I need to say about nursing?” “Have I figured out how my voice could help nurses at large?”
I have been doing / developing Saving Nurses for one year now. It has been a year of seeking…. finding my voice. I’ve made progress… and there’s more progress to come.
For 2017, this will be a time for sounding my voice about nursing further as it continues to develop.
So who am I again?
What do I need to say?
I am a nurse with a strong working knowledge of nursing and healthcare,
and a passion ….
To change the dialogue and focus in healthcare organizations to authentic caring.
To rattle the cages of nurse leaders to start thinking about authentic caring, talking about authentic caring, nurturing it within themselves and their fellow nurse leaders, and acknowledging it when it is experienced by any and all nurses.
That’s 2017 for me.
Happy New Year !
